3/13/2018

Dear Friends:

I thank you for reading our “Sharing Faith Blog.”  This blog is dedicated to having parishioners share a reflection concerning something about their faith or sharing a reflection regarding a reading from the Liturgy of the Word for Sunday Mass.  I thank Dorothy { Dot } McDermott  for her reflection on the Gospel from Mass on March 11 2018, (EPHESIANS 2-4:10).

Respectfully yours in Christ,
Fr. Tom Morgan
Pastor

My name is Dorothy { Dot } McDermott and my husband and I have been members of St Jerome Parish for 45 years. I  attend the Sunday AM bible study which has aided  in enriching my knowledge of the Catholic faith.

March 11 2018    EPHESIANS 2-4:10

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you, it is the gift of God.

Through Baptism we are immersed into the grace of God, by which even now, we  share in Christ,s life, death and resurrection. God has given us many gifts, and even with our transgressions, he forgives us  in his divine love and mercy. Paul adds to his description of God,s abundant mercy by writing of God,s immeasurable riches and ever bestowing to us  the gift of grace, and  that salvation is the work of God, not of our own actions.

Love, trust and faith in  God sustain me in my daily life in this troubled world. I thank him for his many gifts and trust in him to protect me and mine always. I am reminded of an Al Anon saying of  "Let Go and Let God "!

Dear Friends:

I thank you for reading our “Sharing Faith Blog.”  This blog is dedicated to having parishioners share a reflection concerning something about their faith or sharing a reflection regarding a reading from the Liturgy of the Word for Sunday Mass.  I thank Theresa Dimmer for her reflection on 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 from Mass for March 4, 2018.

Theresa Dimmer
I have been attending the Sunday morning bible study for several months.  It has been very rewarding and I have already learned so much.  I appreciate the kindness and care of all the participants in this group.  Thank you everyone for who you are.

Mass March 4, 2018, 1 Corinthians 1:22-25
I spent quite a bit of time reflecting upon this reading trying to get to the heart of what it meant to me.

Some need miracles while others look for understanding but still remain skeptical about the significance of Christ dying for our sins.  Understanding and acceptance of this incredible sacrifice opens up the path or journey to become closer with God.  God has his own way of reaching out in ways people could never comprehend.  Believing something without tangible proof is the very definition of FAITH.
